Step Out 1 Inch

I recently provided phone coaching sessions to a
very sharp and ambitious Savvy Intrapreneur named
Helen. Her situation is probably similiar to many
people. She works at an organization where she isn't
being allowed to perform at her maximum potential.
There are co-workers that she did not choose, but
has to work with. And she receives a paycheck that
she does not agree with.

Helen takes full ownership for her situation. She does
not blame the organization, co-workers or
past experiences for her current situation. She
acknowledges that it is up to her to change things.
After a couple of phone coaching sessions,
Helen has made a commitment, to herself, that she
will begin taking action so this situation
never occurs again. By adjusting her thinking
by 1 inch, Helen has become a Savvy
Intrapreneur. Helen is now focused on improving
her situation at work, while developing other
opportunities for generating alternate income
producing profit centers.

Changing our perspective by 1 inch does require
stepping a little out of our comfort zone. What's
worse? Going to work everyday afraid of being fired
or going to work fearlessly as a Savvy Intrapreneur?
Consider this. If 35,000 people say it can't be done
and one person accomplishes it, who's right?

Over the years, I have had many jobs and consulting
clients. Not even once, was I ever afraid of being
fired. Stepping out 1 inch made all the difference.
Make today count by stepping out 1 inch!!

Positive Affirmations Don't Work

This is an excerpt from an article by Allen Says.
It's a good example of 1 inch thinking. Allen takes a
good idea for getting what we want out of life and he
makes the idea work better for achieving tangible
results.

The old success method of "Acting As If", almost had
it right. This idea, this concept, was like taking
the "Acting As If" method and making it a
guaranteed, foolproof success strategy that simply
could not fail if put into action with absolute sincerity.

That vast majority of people who have tried
the "Acting As If" method did it with the idea
that they where "Affirming" something.
Somewhere along the line the Acting As If method
got mixed up with Affirmations. For most people,
affirmations are a hopeless exercise doomed to
fail. . . .

"How would you Act and Feel if you
already had everything you wanted?" Notice that you
are not Affirming anything that's untrue. You are not
affirming anything at all. You are simply
Modeling the state of mind and body you
would have IF you had what you want.

* How would you think?

* How would you act?

* How would you feel?

* How would you talk?

* How would you walk?

* How would you move?

* If You Already Had What You
Want?

What you are actually doing is removing every
block in your system that is blocking your true
potential, your energy, your intelligence, your
magnetism . . .

How to Get Slightly Famous by Steven Yoder

Some business owners attract clients and
customers like magnets. Their marketing seems
effortless. They don't advertise. They haven't made a
cold call in years. They charge more. They're
regularly asked to speak at conferences and are
featured in newspapers and magazines. Everyone
knows their name, and they get all the business they
can handle.

It's almost as though they were famous.

In fact, they are, but not in the way movie stars and
top athletes are famous--they're just slightly famous.
Just famous enough to make their names come to
mind when people are looking for a particular product
or service. They get more business-not only more,
but the right kind of business-and they don't have to
work so hard to get it.

"Never Eat Alone"

Written by Keith Ferrazzi & Tahl Raz, this book is
excellent reading recommended by networking guru
and founder of
ETP
Network, Rod Colon (http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=dnssucbab.0.0.7yyms8n6.0&p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.etpnetwork.com). Keith Ferrazzi is the
youngest partner in Deloitte Consulting's history and
founder of the consulting company Ferrazzi
Greenlight. The author quickly aims in this useful
volume to distinguish his networking techniques from
generic handshakes and business cards tossed like
confetti. At conferences, Ferrazzi practices what he
calls the "deep bump" - a "fast and meaningful" slice
of intimacy that reveals his uniqueness to
interlocutors and quickly forges the kind of emotional
connection through which trust, and lots of business,
can soon follow.

SMART TECHNOLOGY - Disposable Email Addresses

You just met someone, but you're not sure if you
should give them your actual email address. No
problem. Give them a disposable email address. Check
it online, later. You can give your real email address,
only after checking what a person has to offer at the
disposable email address. This eliminates spam, in
case you do not want to communicate further.

FREE Business & Career Coaching

Do I need a Coach?
You may have noticed one of the latest trends in
career management is to have your own career
coach. It's not really a new concept. Executives,
entertainers and sports professionals
have known for years the value of
investing in the expertise of a personal coaching
professional. You may still wonder, "What's a career
or business coach?" and more importantly, "Do I
need one?"

The best way to illustrate the value of a career or
business coach is to compare them to personal
trainers. Anyone can go to a gym and work out.
Having a personal trainer is not a prerequisite to
fitness. The value of a personal trainer is that he/she
helps their client achieve their fitness goal quicker
and with better results. Similarly, a coach
accelerates the job search or business expansion
process resulting in significantly higher income.
