The Virtual Handsake is a powerful reference guide for quickly expanding your network of opportunities, using the Internet. More people have used the Internet to participate in an online group than to read news or even to buy something. Online social networks have enjoyed phenomenal growth in recent years, and every major
Internet portal now offers some kind of social networking or ?blogging? tool to its users.
But these tools are not just recreational, they are rapidly becoming essential tools for business. They are part of a "social software" toolkit that includes blogs, relationship capital management software, advanced contact managers, virtual communities, web conferencing, instant messaging, and much more.

"Voice Mail is a Marketing Tool; Yeah, Right" by Carl E. Reid
Concentrating time and effort on obvious marketing tools is important to succeed. This arsenal of marketing tools includes our wardrobe, communications skills and staying on top of other skills to maintain our personal marketing image.

"An Alternate View of Management vs. Leadership" by Lisa Haneberg
There is a shortage of great management in many of today's corporations. Perhaps the management vs. leadership mindset is one reason for this. Leadership is certainly
the "sexier" of the two and I wonder if some have abandoned developing excellent management skills because they want to be a leader.
To me, management refers to the responsibilities we have that are about taking care of business processes, planning, assignments, quality, productivity, and the alignment of the organization. Management is the practice of tending to regular and
emerging business needs. Management is the craft of tending to the details of the business in an engaged, proactive and results oriented manner.
Leadership refers to the responsibilities we have that are about influencing, inspiring, and enlivening our employees, peers, and customers. We demonstrate
leadership when we communicate in a compelling manner, encourage productive dialogue, and when we role model excellence.
